Death of a Human from A Dog's Perspective

Sigh. I'm in a funk. The human's mother passed around Christmas , so life has been a little different lately. I sure will miss my grandmom actually. I had real respect for that human. Despite my tiny size she really treated me larger than life. I just spent time with her at Thanksgiving and she made me real turkey dinner. (Not that crappy processed dog food her daughter feeds me.) I've just been sitting around the house lately feeling as blue as anything because the human is so sad. I haven't even answered my fan mail.

My boyfriend, Buford the basset hound has been comforting me, but it seems he is sad too. All he does is sleep. I would say that is depression, but he does that anyways. We just don't know quite how to feel about it.

I sit and ponder the meaning of life, and wonder why humans are so sad when someone dies. To me, they are lucky to have had half a lifetime with someone, or sometimes most of a lifetime which is remarkable. For us dogs, we only have but a few years, a mere fraction of most human's lives. How do you think we feel?

Frankly I stress when the human stresses and lately I can't seem to get a good night's sleep, so I find myself sleeping during the day. What am I, turning into a vampire?

So, I guess it's just one day at a time right now. I wait for things to change around here, but I know it won't be today. Instead of crying, I wish they were happy about how much time they had with the person while they were alive. I guess some things dogs just don't understand.

Christmas Card for Michael Vick : From a Dog's Point of View

People are asking me my view on Michael Vick, and if he "paid his time" and is "sorry for his crime." Blah blah....football player...blah blah...football star...blah blah.....didn't think I'd get caught because people don't go to jail for fighting dogs only for murder...blah blah. Well, I happen to know a few guys in jail for murders they didn't commit so where's the justice here?

It all boils down to this: My owner taught me when you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. I also was told that Art Heals. So , I put my wee talents to the test and I made Michael Vick a Christmas Card.

Summer Recap: Front Page News

It's been awhile since I blogged. I visited my mother in Baltimore for the summer, only to find that Baltimore City had a huge rat problem. In LA you don't see them as much, but in Baltimore, they are everywhere just like birds. I've seen them fly too, jumping out of trashcans, running up the tree, across the fence, what is that? She was not happy when I brought her some dead ones in as a gift, go figure. Suffice to say, I was then locked in for awhile and I spent some time gnawing on my favorite bone, which as you can see is as large as I am.

Then in August I made the front page of VOX!

This was because of my paw paintings that I'm making for the West Memphis three, to date it helped me sell one painting out of my Etsy store, so I'm glad I can now officially say my contributions are $20 towards the West Memphis Three Fund. To date, my mom has raised $2006, so combined we have $2026 not bad at all.

It just keeps getting better -for this little dog.

Activism: West Memphis Three Paw Paintings and to Those Hiding the Truth in Arkansas EAT YELLOW SNOW.

I've come a long way in just a few months of being an out-of-Hollywood actor. I've beaten the doctor's prognosis of never being able to run and play again - and I'm doing something with my life.

I've been painting lately. Actually, this time for profit, in my Etsy Store to raise money for a very worthy cause, The West Memphis Three. It took me awhile to read most of the information on the Callahan site, and of course the media is loaded with information, but I've come to my own conclusion on the matter.

Here it is: (dog translation below) Can someone explain to me why are these three people in jail when there is NO I repeat ZIP FACTOR forensic evidence linking them to the case? This country is messed up! Here in the USA justice turns a blind eye all the time! Let's remember the OJ shrunken glove-didn't-fit-acquit victory (sigh) even though he had a huge background of abusing Nicole (sigh) and he gets off scott-free. (good lawyer) Can you say, CIVIL CASE hahahahahahah!!!

Then you have these three guys, whose biggest crime was being misfits. Poor Damien Echols getting the worst of it all. Now, you have three little boys (their killer roams free) who were gruesomely murdered and a very messed up police investigation that was more about swift results than thorough interrogations and work ups of all people or would-be suspects. Not to mention I wish I could call Horatio Caine from CSI and get him to run like-style-murders in the region since the time of these boy's murders. I bet there's more instances out there proving Mr. He-Dune-It-And-Got-Away-Scott-Free is still out there. I can't fathom why the scales of injustice strike yet again, and convict people on THEORY and not EVIDENCE. What ever happened to Innocent Before Proven Guilty?

If the fibers and hair don't' fit, ACQUIT! Oh, that's right, the Legal Beagle tells me that you can't acquit because they've been convicted. However, you can PARDON! You can APOLOGIZE! Then again that would be admitting you've jailed three innocent people for 18 years. Not so good for your resume huh?

Shame on you. I have one thing to say to those who know the real truth in the state of Arkansas

EAT
SOME
YELLOW
SNOW!
